As part of the OPEN Health Publications team, you’ll be responsible for the following activities:

Working in a vibrant agency alongside other client services personnel, editorial team members and a creative team, to manage our client’s requirements and deliver their publication projects

Client Relationships and Delivery

  • Full ownership of the publications programme for each client, ranging from strategic input to overseeing day-to-day management of tactical delivery (based on specific needs for each account)
  • Thorough understanding of the clients’ objectives, publications and broader product strategy and relevant therapeutic area. Clear communication of this to all team members, as relevant
  • Manage and influence senior-level client contacts and maintain positive working relationships, immediately identifying any issues and leading remedial action, as required
  • Coordinate effectively and efficiently with appropriate members of the team, supporting the development and training of account handling team members, including direct line management responsibilities, as appropriate

Process Excellence

  • In depth understanding of the relevant policies and processes that impact both the pharmaceutical industry (e.g. compliance – ABPI/EFPIA) and best publications practice (e.g. GPP3, ICMJE)
  • Responsibility for building and maintaining professional relationships with authors and opinion leaders (at a UK, EU and global level)
  • Work with the Global Publications Director to ensure optimal publications team structure, processes and training
  • Ensure understanding and implementation of all OPEN Health Medical Communications procedures and quality standards across all team members
  • Ensure all team members take ownership for their business and appropriate levels of responsibility

Financial Management

  • Ensure optimal financial management of each account and demonstrate a clear understanding of all financial processes within the business
  • Monitor forecast and plans in conjunction with the broader account handling team to ensure business objectives are met, on time and within budget
  • Ensure the finance team and MD are kept up to date with all relevant information and manage financial issues in a timely manner

Business Growth

  • Promote OPEN Health Medical Communications services to all clients, identifying new business opportunities and working collaboratively across the group as required
  • Highlight key issues to the MD/Global Publications Director regarding key accounts and the account team, as appropriate

Leadership and Collaboration

  • Support the MD/Global Publications Director as a senior member of the team
  • Contribute to discussions regarding overall company strategy
  • Ensure effective cross-company working on integrated accounts, where appropriate

  • Able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Competent in using Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook as well as Datavision
    (or equivalent)
  • Sound understanding of appropriate codes of practice including GPP3, ICMJE etc
