Recruitment Fraud Alert – Protecting Yourself From Job Scams

We’ve seen a recent rise in sophisticated job scams targeting individuals and organizations across the industry — and unfortunately, OPEN Health has not been immune.

In several reported incidents, attackers have impersonated OPEN Health and its leadership by sending fraudulent job offers or urgent requests for personal information. These scams often include:

  • Lookalike domains, such as openhealth.store or openhealthjobs.store, used to send fake job offers.
  • Fraudulent interviews and offer letters, often followed by fake checks sent to purchase home-office equipment, with victims later asked to refund “excess” funds after the check bounces.
  • Impersonation of executives, including our CEO, using deceptive email addresses to request personal details under urgent pretense.

These tactics are part of a broader trend where scam artists exploit the job application process to gain access to personal data or money.

How to Spot and Avoid Job Scams

If you or someone you know is currently job hunting, please stay alert to the following red flags:

  • Requests for personal information early on
Be cautious if asked for banking details, identification scans, or other sensitive data before a formal offer is made. Always ask why the information is needed.
  • Unstructured or informal processes
Scammers often avoid formal interviews and rely on emails or messaging apps. If you don’t have a video or phone conversation with an identifiable recruiter, proceed with caution.
  • Upfront payments or reimbursement schemes
OPEN Health will never ask candidates to pay for equipment, background checks, onboarding, or training — and we do not send checks for you to deposit.
  • Requests to use unfamiliar software
If you’re asked to download platforms outside of common tools like Microsoft Teams, Zoom, or WhatsApp, take time to verify their legitimacy.
  • Suspicious email domains
All legitimate communication from OPEN Health will come from an @openhealthgroup.com email address. Be wary of any similar-looking domains or free email services.
  • Do your homework
Visit our official careers page and our LinkedIn company profile to verify roles and reach out via our website if something doesn’t feel right.

We are committed to creating a safe and trustworthy recruitment experience. If you receive any suspicious communication claiming to be from OPEN Health, please do not share personal information, click on links, or engage further — and contact us directly for support.

Thank you for your interest in joining OPEN Health, and we look forward to meeting you.
