Evidence & Publication Gap Analysis

Created - Wednesday, September 9, 2026

Challenge

A biopharma client needed to prioritize evidence and publication gaps to sharpen its 2024 communication strategy for a prostate cancer asset. With a crowded competitive landscape and limited resources, the team needed a rigorous, actionable analysis, not a static literature review, to inform publication planning, RWE strategy, and tactical decision making.

Solution

OPEN Health conducted a comprehensive literature and clinical trial evaluation across the product and its key competitors, with parallel gap assessments covering sub-analyses, RWE, HEOR, plain language summaries, and novel publication formats. Findings were synthesized into a visual gap summary and presented at the client’s 2024 publication planning workshop, with specific proposals for new publication approaches and strategic content priorities.

Outcome

With a clear, evidence-based view of where gaps existed and where competitors were gaining ground, the client was able to make confident, prioritized decisions about where to invest its publication and evidence generation resources in 2024. RWE emerged as a high-priority focus area, a finding that directly shaped the communication strategy for the asset. Rather than spreading effort across low-value tactics, the team entered its planning cycle with a defensible rationale for every strategic choice.
