Patient Engager Programs

Created - Wednesday, September 9, 2026

Challenge

The client aimed to gain a deeper understanding of the challenges faced throughout the Primary Periodic Paralysis (PPP) journey and to strengthen collaboration across the community. Individuals living with PPP experience limited disease awareness, fragmented support, and a lack of physician understanding. Working with advocacy partners, the client aimed to elevate recognition of the PPP community, uncover patient needs and treatment barriers, and build stronger partnerships that align brand goals with meaningful, authentic patient engagement.

Solution

OPEN Health brought together client-contracted ambassadors and advocacy thought leaders for a two-day, in-person summit designed to identify shared goals, gaps, and opportunities for collaboration. Together, we worked to break down barriers between advocacy groups and the client, aligning on partnership approaches and future initiatives

Outcome

  • Pre-work assignments to align perspectives ahead of the summit.
  • On-site video interviews capturing authentic ambassador and advocate insights.
  • A session resulting in a shared community commitment statement.
  • Development of an Awareness Day, with a plan shaped collaboratively with advocacy organizations.
  • Ideation of desired educational resources and enhancements to the existing mentor program.
