Franchise-Wide Publication Planning

Created - Wednesday, September 9, 2026

Challenge

A rare disease client needed to consolidate fragmented, siloed publication activity across an entire therapeutic franchise. Without a unified strategic approach, cross-functional insights were underutilized, evidence gaps were unaddressed, and local and global plans were misaligned, limiting the reach and impact of significant data assets.

Approach

OPEN Health led a structured cross-functional engagement process, including stakeholder interviews, a strategic planning workshop, and prioritization exercises to surface evidence gaps and unmet needs. We designed a standardized publication plan template that enabled alignment across global and local teams, incorporating publication extenders and data-mining outputs to ensure no strategic opportunity was missed.

Outcome

With a unified, strategy-led publication plan in place, the client could finally align global and local teams around shared priorities, eliminating duplication, closing evidence gaps, and ensuring every publication served a defined strategic purpose. Cross-functional insights that had previously gone unused were now embedded into the planning process, giving the organization a coherent, scalable approach to data dissemination across the entire franchise.
