Open health announces its new independent medical education company, liberum

OPEN Health is pleased to announce the launch of Liberum IME, its new independent medical education (IME) company.

“We have recently seen an increase in the support of accredited education through arm’s-length funding. Best practice is to deliver this work through a separate company with strong expertise in IME and continuing medical education (CME). I am therefore delighted to welcome Celeste Kolanko to the OPEN Health Group to launch and lead Liberum IME,” says Sandy Royden, COO, OPEN Health.

Celeste Kolanko, Managing Director, Liberum IME, said: “I am very excited about the opportunity to lead OPEN Health’s new IME company. Liberum will respond to the current need for a gold-standard IME/CME company that provides bespoke, innovative programmes in conjunction with expert faculty, based on the core principles of good CME practice. We will employ rigorous outcomes measurements to ensure our education programmes improve healthcare professionals’ knowledge, competence and performance with the goal of ultimately improving patient care.”

Celeste has more than 15 years’ experience in IME/CME, delivering large scale, global programmes across a variety of therapy areas. She has held senior leadership roles in both Europe and the USA, including Managing Director of a London-based organisation and a senior leadership role at an Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME)-accredited provider that achieved accreditation with commendation. She led the team that won the 2010 Alliance for Continuing Education in the Health Professions (ACHP) award for Outstanding Industry Supported CME Activity.

Liberum will operate globally from its London, US and Dubai offices. The name ‘Liberum’ was born from the Latin word for “independent and unrestricted”; values which are core to IME/CME best practice.
