There is an African proverb that is often referred to within the BlocPartners network – “If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together”: togetherness is a hugely important aspect of life. It unites us, gives us security, much-needed support and a sense of belonging. It’s therefore hugely valuable to the BlocPartners and we know we are greater together!

This togetherness was recently born out in a 4 day BlocPartners meeting held in Switzerland. Having had a relationship with the majority of the people and agencies in the network for around 8 years now I know how important it is that we work closely together. I know how important the relationships are to each individual and the combined drive and passion to do good to be great. We all like each other. We share common goals. We want to work together.

I was looking forward to introducing my OPEN Health colleagues to this togetherness and for them to share this experience themselves first hand. This network does not compare to any of the larger multi-nationals that I have worked for myself on and off over the past 20 years. We choose to be together which makes our offering more unique. It means we can be more entrepreneurial, more nimble. We can dial up or dial down according to our clients and their needs and multidisciplinary challenges. We work more closely than any other network I know. And of course OPEN Health was welcomed with open arms and embraced in to the family that is the BlocPartners.

We worked extremely hard over these 4 days. We hosted a client forum focused on partnerships and paving the future for healthcare. Given that the only constant is change, we know that we need to evolve to deliver on new unmet needs. We discussed how we can deliver added value, how we can be greater together. Clients were invited from well-known Pharma companies with a breadth of experience from global marketers’ through to procurement. The discussions were varied and the insights in abundance.

We also invited various keynote speakers, to talk about how technology is changing the healthcare paradigm, why partnerships are crucial to innovation and what is required to disrupt and engage with our audiences. Having these outsider’s perspectives gave us some observations, understandings and learnings that we can take forward and share with our teams and our clients.

Also of course we looked at our growth and business plans as a network, and shared experiences about the challenges we are all facing around the globe, heartened to discuss common issues whereby we could learn from each other. We talked about our talent and how important our people are. Without our teams we are nothing. We pride ourselves on building incredible relationships, both internally, externally and across borders.

So all in all a hugely productive, informative and insightful meeting, and as well as working ferociously we had some fun along the way. We are after all, greater together.
