Key responsibilities

  • To work with the Client Partnerships Lead to:
  • Support new opportunities for the group
  • Support pitches by completing therapy area/product/competitor research briefed by pitch scientific lead/Editorial Lead(s)
  • Write up and present research back to pitch team, in person, to ensure they have appropriate background knowledge and insights
  • Identify synergies between the teams and implement processes to support research process and insight generation
  • Support new business function through targeted research
  • Keep abreast of latest news in pharmaceutical and medical field
  • Complete research to support new business strategy and company/therapy area/drug class targeting
  • Share news and updates with relevant teams and identify potential new business or promotional opportunities from these
  • Develop content for our promotional activities; website, blog, external newsletter, Linked In page, Twitter account, etc,
  • Attend relevant medical congresses and provide updates and training to teams to up skill in the therapy area
  • Provide ad-hoc project medical writing support to Open Health Medical Communications Group teams (max. 2 days per week)
  • Medical writing support on a project basis as and when required
  • Non-client facing support

Key attributes / skills / competencies

  • Previous experience within a science/medical writing role or proven ability within a related role
  • Interest and detailed understanding of pharmaceutical industry
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Able to quickly learn about new therapy areas, assimilating clinical and commercial information
  • Good understanding of clinical trial methodology and statistics and able to interpret results in a meaningful way, drawing insights from the available data
  • Ability to present and discuss research with a small team
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Competent in using Microsoft Word and PowerPoint
  • Good understanding of the ABPI code of practice
  • Work within the Open Health Medical Communications core values at all times

Holborn is a vibrant borough in central London, only a short walk away from the West End and Covent Garden. There are loads of restaurants and bars in the area, offering something for every taste, and transport links around the capital are excellent.
