As part of the OPEN Health team, you’ll be responsible for the following activities:

Business level

  • Serve as a key member of the global RWE CoE leadership team, partnering in setting direction for people and culture, business development and driving changes that enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness
  • Collaborate with other global CoE leadership to identify opportunities for data science input and innovation
  • Identify and assess new commercial business opportunities which impact the data science offerings
  • Lead and drive innovation and efficiency in our data science processes and offerings
  • Support the global strategic direction in identifying datasets of interest and collaborating with dataset holders

Team level

  • Develop and grow the team in data science skills by providing line management and mentoring support across the department on novel analytical methods, commercial study design, high quality SAP generation and efficient analysis techniques
  • Act as an internal and external thought leader in the data science area
  • Own the operational excellence of the data science team
  • Project & client level
  • Act as a data science project lead for high profile projects
  • Guide strategic consulting to life science industry clients as an expert in data science across the product life cycle
  • Support RFP response and participate in bid proposal and defence as the internal SME on data science and analytics

What you’ll bring:

  • Minimum Requirement: Doctoral, or Master's in Science, Health Services Research, Statistics, Epidemiology, Health Economics, Outcomes Research or closely related field
  • Minimum 5+ years post PhD or 3+ years post-Master’s degree in the pharmaceutical industry and/or academic experience in data science
  • Minimum of 5+ years’ experience working in health care consultancy, with demonstrated ability to communicate complex and strategic messages
  • Minimum 5+ years’ experience of directly conducting health research
  • Experience CPRD / HES and other EU data sources
  • Experience in managing a team

Location

The Georgian market town of Marlow sits on the River Thames, among meadows and woodlands. The town centre features boutique shops, cafes and bistros and Michelin-starred restaurants all within a few minutes’ walk of the OPEN Health offices.
