Key responsibilities:

  • To assist the Group Legal Counsel in the contracting process with clients and third parties, negotiating, reviewing and amending of client and supplier contracts in accordance with OH guidelines
  • Liaising with clients and internal team about the content of such contracts and respecting deadlines
  • Ensuring that all contracts under review are properly and accurately tracked to enable client and colleagues to ascertain the progress of each contract in the review process at all times
  • Communicating legal issues in client contracts with other departments and escalating problem areas
  • Supporting the businesses in relation to contractual issues which arise
  • assisting with providing internal training where necessary as part of the Legal Department
  • Update colleagues on changes in the law which may affect the OH Group
  • Drafting and keeping up to date template contracts to conform to applicable law and commercial requirements
  • Reviewing and updating when necessary all relevant SOPs and policies
  • Following standard operating procedures and internal policies and processes
  • Developing and maintaining good working relationship with clients and internal colleagues, serving as an ambassador to promote the Group’s high quality and ethical image
  • Performing any other duties as assigned by the Legal Department or management as are deemed appropriate.
  • Occasional may be travel required from time to time

Key attributes / skills / competencies

Required experience and qualifications:

  • Educated to degree level from a reputable university, min 2:1 (essential).
  • Passed Legal Practice Course (LPC) (OR law degree with prior contract management experience) – essential.
  • High Level of IT Proficiency
  • Excellent written & spoken English

Essential skills:

  • At least 2 - 3 years experience of commercial contracting, preferably within the pharmaceutical industry or as a paralegal within a law firm
