Public Relations:

By being a part of Patient & Brand Communications, our well-connected PR team combines meaningful insights, knowledge of local and global healthcare communications and great story-telling skills to help our clients be heard by their audiences.

Work will range from media relations to corporate communications; global strategic communications planning to online content marketing and social media; advocacy to access and value communications.

As part of the Patient & Brand Communications team, you’ll be responsible for:

Client management

  • Being the client lead on accounts of approximately £250k, responsible for the direct liaison with clients on multi-project or programme basis and contributing to the overall strategy and direction of the programme
  • A solid understanding of the clients’ aims, objectives and strategy and applying this to day-to-day delivery of programmes and in the development of future plans
  • Confidently providing client counsel and advice, driving creative and innovative solutions for clients’ issues
  • The development of client programmes/presentations for Associate Director/Director/Managing Director review, responsible for implementing feedback for client distribution
  • Coordinating, monitoring and approving programme tactics being carried out by team
  • Confidently leading and contributing in client meetings and teleconferences
  • Ongoing development and day to day management of programme strategies
  • Ensuring regular evaluations of projects and applying key learnings into current/future client programmes
  • Proactively seeking opportunities to grow and enhance client programmes with tactics which can meet the overall client strategy, goals and ambitions

Team management

  • Managing a variety of team and account sizes, contributing to the day-to-day motivation and running of the client programme
  • Overseeing team members on the tactical delivery of client programmes, ensuring deliverables are allocated to right level and experience and delivery timings are adhered to. Where appropriate, flag issues to Associate Directors/Directors/Managing Director
  • Ensuring teams are working and delivering materials, in line with the quality standard for PBC and this is maintained throughout a client programme
  • Coaching and managing Account Managers and junior team members to help them deliver good quality work. Make sure they are clear as to what is expected of them and the deadlines they are working to, and that they feel ownership of their projects and are recognised for their work

Our work

  • Providing direction and input on material development i.e. press releases, Q&As, media backgrounders/infographics, etc., taking responsibility to ensure that the content is accurate and delivered to a high quality standard
  • Leading on medium/large sized projects, acting as a point of contact for clients and overseeing the implementation from junior team members
  • Quality control on all client materials before senior internal review and/or distribution to a client, including reference checks
  • Ensuring all relevant SOPs, stylistic preferences and formats are followed in all material
  • Forging strong relationships with relevant stakeholders and audiences

Resourcing, finances and new business

  • Delivering required revenue and profitability against PR revenue tracker
  • Leading the month-to-month financials for client projects, responsible for internal reporting and development of monthly budget reconciliations for clients
  • Lead on resourcing for client programmes, working with Associate Director to identify solutions to capacity challenges
  • Proactively sourcing new business opportunities within existing and new clients and lead new business efforts on assignments of approximately £150k
  • Working with Associate Director/Director/Managing Director on the development of new business proposals and leading internal coordination to an RFP
  • Leading internal meetings/brainstorms in response to an RFP, coordinating junior team members in their research

Personal effectiveness

  • Line managing junior team members, coaching and guiding their professional development
  • Contributing to on-going performance reviews and PDPs of the wider team
  • Working across PBC to ensure new business opportunities are identified and executed
  • Identify and initiate cross team and cross practice working including sharing of knowledge and skills
  • In-depth industry and healthcare knowledge which can be applied to current and future client programmes
  • Actively developing opportunities for own personal learning and development
  • Being involved in the recruitment and selection of new staff
  • Inducting new staff into the business/PR team
  • Building close working relationships with all team members, across PBC
  • Identifying and initiating cross practice working/sharing of knowledge and skills

Holborn is a vibrant borough in central London, only a short walk away from the West End and Covent Garden. There are loads of restaurants and bars in the area, offering something for every taste, and transport links around the capital are excellent.
